Gujranwala (Special Correspondent): Business and social circles in Gujranwala are expressing intense anger and resentment following a disrespectful statement made by a religious and political leader on social media regarding the eternal sacrifices of the martyrs of the nation.
In this regard, Malik Imran Sabir, Patron-in-Chief of the Azad Gujranwala Printing Group, while addressing a peaceful protest rally, stated that linking the great sacrifices of the martyrs to financial interests or political disputes is highly regrettable and condemnable. He stated that they reject such an irresponsible statement, which has deeply hurt the sentiments of the entire nation.
The speakers demanded that the aforementioned political leader immediately apologize to the nation and clarify their words. The leaders participating in the rally appealed to the Election Commission of Pakistan to conduct a legal review of this statement, as it constitutes a serious violation of the electoral code of conduct. They demanded that action be taken according to the law, including the cancellation of the membership of the relevant political party.
During the rally, participants expressed solidarity with the Armed Forces of Pakistan and paid a grand tribute to the martyrs of the nation. The rally was attended by Farhan Rabbani, the newly elected President of the Gujranwala Printing Alliance Association (GPAA), other office-bearers, and a large number of citizens
