Gujranwala (July 20, 2026): Administrative and security arrangements for the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Elections 2026 have been finalized, with a firm commitment to ensuring a peaceful, transparent, and well-organized process. An important meeting regarding these preparations was held under the chairmanship of Commissioner Gujranwala Division, Muhammad Ali. The meeting was attended by the Regional Election Commissioner, Additional Commissioner Coordination, ACG, and Deputy Commissioners of all districts via video link. The participants conducted a detailed review of several key operational aspects, including: Maintaining law and order during the electoral process. Establishing strict security perimeters at polling stations. Ensuring rigorous monitoring of sensitive locations. Providing comprehensive support to the election staff. Commissioner Muhammad Ali emphasized the need for seamless coordination among all relevant departments to ensure the electoral process is completed in a neutral and peaceful environment. He directed the authorities to ensure that all arrangements are finalized on time, in strict accordance with the policies of the Government of Punjab and the Election Commission, and to maintain an effective strategy for handling any emergencies. Furthermore, the Commissioner instructed the Deputy Commissioners to maintain continuous oversight of traffic management, security, and rescue services on polling day, ensuring that voters can exercise their right to franchise without any fear or intimidation. During the meeting, the Regional Election Commissioner provided a briefing on the election preparations, while all Deputy Commissioners updated the chair on the progress made within their respective districts. The meeting concluded with a renewed pledge that all institutions will work under a unified strategy to ensure the successful conduct of the AJK Elections 2026.
