ISLAMABAD:
In a recent conversation with the media, General Secretary of RIUJ Workers, Syed Bilal Izzat Naqvi, commended the exceptional leadership and integrity of MD APP Muhamad Asim Khichi. Naqvi stated, “Pakistan exists only because of patriotic officers like Asim Khichi. For the first time in APP’s history, those who have looted the organization are facing justice. This is just the beginning, as these wrongdoers never imagined that someone as honest and brave as Mr. Khichi would join APP.”
Reflecting on the state of the APP a year ago, Naqvi highlighted, “The APP was a place overshadowed by fear, with employees living under constant threat from corrupt elements who had complete control. Stepping into such a challenging environment, Mr. Khichi faced significant obstacles. However, his bravery and unwavering commitment to justice set him apart.”
Naqvi continued, “Asim Khichi risked his life, disregarding threats, conspiracies, and propaganda from the corrupt mafia. His determination and the grace of Almighty Allah have brought him success, restoring integrity and hope within the APP. Today, we salute and express our heartfelt admiration for MD APP Muhamad Asim Khichi. His leadership is a testament to the power of honesty and courage.”
Thanks to Asim Khichi’s bravery and bold steps, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Islamabad Zone executed a significant operation. The Anti-Corruption Circle Islamabad apprehended three APP officials involved in corruption, fraud, criminal negligence, and abuse of power. The arrested individuals, Muhammad Ghawas (Director IT), Saad Mudassir (Chief Computer Engineer), and Musawir Imran (Deputy Director), were employees of the Associated Press of Pakistan Corporation.
These arrests followed the rejection of their pre-arrest bail applications. Preliminary investigations revealed that these individuals inflicted a loss of 124 million rupees on the national treasury through corrupt practices. They were part of the procurement committee of the Associated Press of Pakistan Corporation and awarded a contract worth 113 million rupees to a firm named Artic Systems without proper financial proposal approval from the competent authority. They also fabricated procurement committee minutes to get the bills approved by AGPR.
Naqvi concluded by emphasizing the impact of Mr. Khichi’s actions, stating, “Mr. Khichi’s work sends a clear message that corruption will not be tolerated, and integrity will always prevail. It is because of officers like him that Pakistan remains strong and resilient.”
This unprecedented achievement in APP’s history sets a new benchmark for leadership and accountability. The actions of MD APP Muhamad Asim Khichi have not only cleansed the institution but have also reinforced the principles of honesty and bravery that are essential for the prosperity of our nation.
