Baisakhi Festival Concludes at Gurdwara Sacha Sauda; Indian Pilgrims Praise Pakistan’s Exceptional Hospitality

The three-day spiritual celebrations of the Baisakhi festival concluded at the historic Gurdwara Sacha Sauda. The festivities culminated with the sacred ritual of ‘Bhog,’ during which special prayers were offered for the progress, security of Pakistan, and global peace. Thousands of Sikh pilgrims from India and other countries, as well as local devotees, participated in religious rituals including Matha Tekna, Shabad Kirtan, and Ashnan. Following the conclusion of the events, 2,238 Indian Sikh pilgrims, led by party leader Sardar Surjeet Singh, arrived at Gurdwara Sacha Sauda in Farooqabad from Nankana Sahib under high security. After performing their religious rites, the pilgrims departed for Gurdwara Panja Sahib, Hassan Abdal, where they will attend the main Baisakhi ceremony on April 14. The Deputy Commissioner of Sheikhupura stated that exemplary facilities, including accommodation, food, medical care, and foolproof security, were provided to the pilgrims throughout their stay. He emphasized that the Pakistani nation holds deep affection for the Sikh community, and the pilgrims are returning with a message of peace and love. Upon their departure, the Sikh pilgrims expressed high satisfaction and praised the Government of Pakistan and the district administration for the extraordinary protocol and facilities. They remarked that the warmth and hospitality of the Pakistani people are unforgettable, adding that “Pakistan feels like home,” and expressed a strong desire to return.
Global Pilgrims Pay Tribute to Pakistan’s Management
Pilgrims arriving from India and across the world for the Baisakhi Mela paid rich tributes to the Government of Pakistan, the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB), and the local administration for the excellent arrangements in transport, security, and catering.Sikh pilgrims from Haryana shared that they felt completely safe and peaceful, experiencing no fear or pressure. Jasvir Kaur from Ludhiana praised the exceptional protocol, stating that even high-ranking officials in India do not receive such honors. Randeep Kaur from Delhi and Davinder Kaur from Banaras also described the arrangements and the grand welcome as memorable, reiterating their wish to visit again.
