The Bangladesh men’s cricket team is set to arrive in Pakistan ahead of schedule to prepare for their upcoming ICC World Test Championship matches in Rawalpindi and Karachi.
Initially scheduled to land in Islamabad on August 13, the team will now arrive in Lahore on August 13 to begin their training.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) extended an invitation to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to ensure the visiting team has ample time to acclimate and train before the crucial Test matches.
The team will train at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium from 14th to 16th August before moving to Islamabad on 17th August to continue their practice at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from 18th to 20th August.
PCB Chief Operating Officer Salman Naseer highlighted the significance of sportsmanship and competitive preparation, expressing confidence that the additional training days would help the players perform at their best.
He also expressed his pleasure at the BCB’s acceptance of the offer, emphasising the PCB’s commitment to providing traditional Pakistani hospitality.
BCB Chief Executive Nizam Uddin Chowdhury expressed his gratitude to the PCB, noting that the extra training time would be invaluable for the players to adjust to the conditions and prepare for the series.
This tour marks Bangladesh’s first visit to Pakistan since 2020, when they played three T20Is in Lahore and a one-off Test in Rawalpindi.
Recently, Bangladesh also participated in two ACC Asia Cup 2023 matches in Lahore.
