Conspiracy-Based Committee Formed for the Administration of Hazrat Bari Imam Sarkar’s Shrine

Islamabad, Aug 08:  Peer Syed Muhammad Ali Gilani, the spiritual leader of Hazrat Bari Imam Sarkar’s shrine, and heir to the spiritual seat, has issued a statement from his Peer House in Bari Imam Sarkar, expressing concerns about the formation of a committee for the management and organization of the shrine. Peer Sahib questioned whether the committee was formed with malicious intent and whether the Ministry of Religious Affairs has overlooked established rules and regulations. He further inquired whether the ministry is incapable of carrying out its responsibilities to oversee the administration.

Peer Syed Muhammad Ali Gilani raised questions about the lack of trust in the revered custodians of the shrine while forming the committee. He also questioned the necessity of notifying the committee’s formation on the 10th of Muharram (Holiday). In this context, Peer Sahib highlighted that the decision to celebrate Urs-e-Pak during the sacred month of Muharram rather than adhering to the customary dates for auspicious occasions has escalated the risk of disturbing peace in the region. He emphasized that the juxtaposition of celebrations with the solemnity of Muharram could lead to undesirable consequences.

Peer Sahib continued by stating that they have pledged to uphold the sanctity of Hazrat Bari Imam Sarkar’s shrine and to prevent discord, alluding to his commitment to avoid any form of division. While expressing respect for the celebration, he stressed the importance of adhering to the original dates for the ceremony and the supervision of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, as Hazrat Bari Imam Sarkar’s celebration is a unique event with unspecified dates to ensure it does not clash with mourning days.

Peer Syed Muhammad Ali Gilani called upon influential figures, including military officials, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, and the Chief Justice, to terminate the committee immediately and postpone the ceremony’s celebrations during Muharram.
