RAWALPINDI: Under the directives of CPO Syed Khalid Hamdani, ASI Shakoor, SHO Rawat and the Rawat Police team demonstrated exemplary bravery in pursuing and arresting dangerous car thieves, recovering a stolen vehicle in the process.
Rawat Police had established special checkpoins to prevent vehicle theft. During one such checkpoint, suspects in a suspicious vehicle opened fire on the police and attempted to flee. ASI Shakoor Rawat Police, undeterred, pursued the vehicle, leading to a second exchange of fire in the Waris Khan area. In the ensuing confrontation, one suspect was killed by their own fire, another was arrested in an injured condition, while a third managed to escape.
Upon receiving the information, senior officers and additional personnel promptly arrived at the scene. The deceased robber was identified as Adnan, and the injured robber as Ramzan. The body was sent for a post-mortem examination, and the injured robber was transferred to the hospital for treatment. The stolen vehicle and weapons, taken from the Rawat area, were recovered from the suspects. The deceased robber had a record of multiple car theft cases and was wanted by the police.
A search operation is ongoing in the area to apprehend the escaped robber.
