Logan Paul addresses Messi’s trademark lawsuit against Prime Hydration

Logan Paul has broken his silence on the trademark infringement lawsuit involving his Prime Hydration brand and Lionel Messi’s Mas+ drink.

In a recent episode of ‘ImPaulsive’, Paul addressed the legal dispute during an interview with his former boxing rival and British media personality KSI. The conversation turned to the lawsuit when KSI remarked, “Make sure you punch up to someone that you know you can battle with.” Paul quickly responded, “Like Messi! Who is suing us for copying him! How is that possible?”

Paul elaborated on how the lawsuit unfolded, sharing his initial disbelief. “I get the text… ‘Messi’s drink Mas+ suing Prime Hydration… did he copy?’ I was like… Dude, how is that possible?” He further explained that Messi’s legal team is seeking a “rush judgment,” asking the court to quickly decide if there is any infringement on Prime’s trademark. “We haven’t officially accused him of infringing on our trademark,” Paul clarified. “They decided to bring it to court instead of resolving it behind the scenes.”

Mark Anthony International, the distributor of Mas+, filed the lawsuit on October 8, 2024, claiming that Mas+ is a non-competitive product. Their survey indicated that customers were not confusing the two brands. However, Paul disagrees. “People think it’s Prime! They tag us on Instagram thinking they’re buying a ‘Messi version of Prime,’” he said, adding that many customers in Latin countries believe Mas+ is affiliated with Prime Hydration due to Messi’s involvement.
