Attackers take away all cash at gunpoint
LAKKI MARWAT/ DI KHAN:
One security guard was killed when unidentified miscreants attacked a toll plaza in DI Khan district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) and took away all the cash at gunpoint after opening fire at the staff in what appears to be yet another terrorist attack on Wednesday.
In a separate incident, a police head constable, who had been injured in a terrorist attack in Kulachi a few days ago, succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
Police told Daily Information times that miscreants attacked Yark Toll Plaza in DI Khan early on Wednesday morning, made the staff hostage and took way several lakh rupees at gunpoint. A security guard, identified as Murad Ali, resident of Quetta, was killed when the attackers opened fire at him.
The attackers managed to escape after committing the crime without being challenged.
Police reached the location and inspected the site of the attack. They sent the dead body for autopsy.
Police said that it was not an ordinary case of robbery and that terrorists were involved. It was the second attack at the same toll plaza in the district and both the assaults, according to police, were carried out by militants.
Similarly, a head constable of Dera police, Shah Wali, who had been under treatment at Nakwara check post, succumbed to his injuries. He had been left critically injured in an attack at Takwara police post in Kulachi.
The deceased was a resident of Bannu whose last rites were performed at DI Khan police lines and later his body was sent to ancestral hometown for burial.
In a separate incident, miscreants blew up a mobile phone tower in Lakki Marwat district late on Tuesday night.
