ISLAMABAD/KABUL: Tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan have reached a critical point as Islamabad declared a state of “open war” following large-scale retaliatory clashes. Pakistan’s military has launched Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq, targeting militant sanctuaries and military installations in Kabul, Kandahar, and Paktika.
According to Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, Pakistani forces have neutralized over 330 Afghan personnel and destroyed 104 military posts. The operation was initiated in response to unprovoked cross-border firing by Afghan forces that targeted civilian and military positions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
DG ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry stated that the Afghan regime must make a clear choice between supporting terrorist organizations or maintaining peace with Pakistan.
