PTI approaches court against cordoning off on occasion of Imran Khan’s appearance

ISLAMABAD – March 18: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) moves court against the prevention of lawyers, PTI leaders and media from entering the court premises on the occasion of Imran Khan’s appearance.

Imran Khan’s lawyer Dr Babar Awan filed a written application in the court in this regard.

The application – submitted against the cordoning off – maintained that Imran Khan is to appear in court and the entire area has been cordoned off in the disguise of security measures by the police and administration.

“The PTI lawyers, leaders and media are not being allowed to enter,” the application reads.

Dr Babar Awan while referring to court orders submitted that obstacles are also being put in despite orders.

“There is no legal justification for banning the entry of lawyers and media in the open court.”

The application requested that court should take notice of the poor and unjustifiable policy of the administration and issue orders for the entry of important persons including lawyers and media into the court.

Pertinently, Imran Khan is to appear in Islamabad court in the Toshakhana case against him.
