Major Relief for Sheikhupura Property Dealers: Professional Tax Slashed by 50% Following Successful Negotiations

SHEIKHUPURA (Report by Rana Babar Saleem):
A high-level meeting was held between Excise and Taxation Officer (ETO) Saqib Bhatti and a delegation from the Property Dealers Association Sheikhupura, led by Chairman Mohammad Naveed Akhtar. The primary focus of the discussion was the resolution of professional tax grievances. In a significant development for the real estate community, ETO Saqib Bhatti has officially reduced the professional tax on property dealers’ offices from PKR 20,000 to PKR 10,000. This 50% reduction is the direct result of the persistent efforts, effective representation, and strategic advocacy of Chairman Mohammad Naveed Akhtar. All property dealers are urged to submit their professional tax of PKR 10,000 by the deadline of May 25, 2026. It is important to note that if the tax is not paid by the due date, the original amount of PKR 20,000 will be reinstated and will not be eligible for further reduction, as strict recovery orders have been issued by the government. The real estate community has lauded the success as a testament to the exemplary leadership of Chairman Mohammad Naveed Akhtar and his commitment to protecting the rights of property dealers.
