Gujranwala (July 30, 2026): Regional Police Officer (RPO) Gujranwala, Khurram Shahzad Haider Warraich, appreciated the exceptional professional services, stellar leadership, and effective counter-crime measures of City Police Officer (CPO) Gujranwala, Dr. Sardar Ghiyas Gul Khan, by awarding him an appreciation certificate.
The RPO stated that CPO Gujranwala achieved remarkable success in maintaining law and order and preventing crime in Gujranwala and Wazirabad through his leadership skills, effective supervision, intelligence-based policing, and robust monitoring of field formations. His professional strategy and accountability-based system have further enhanced the overall performance of the police force.
The RPO highlighted that during the first six months of the year 2026, Gujranwala, including Wazirabad district, played the most crucial role across the entire Gujranwala region by bringing about a significant reduction in crime. During this period, a notable decrease of 2,117 cases of robbery and dacoity was recorded, contributing to an overall regional decrease of 2,506 cases—which surpasses the combined reduction of all other nine regions of Punjab Police. Gujranwala also achieved remarkable drops in other serious crimes, including dacoity-cum-murder, dacoity under Section 394, car snatching, motorcycle snatching, car theft, motorcycle theft, and burglary. These results are practical proof of modern policing, effective supervision, integrated strategy, and continuous operational measures.
Applauding the ongoing campaign against drug peddlers, RPO Khurram Shahzad Haider Warraich stated that under the leadership of CPO Gujranwala, indiscriminate operations were conducted against drug dealers, resulting in a substantial increase in drug-related cases and a 99%+ increase in drug recoveries. Strict legal actions were taken against major drug traffickers, while elements aiding and abetting them were also brought to justice.
