Gujranwala: Under the “Suthra Punjab” vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, to ensure the provision of best sanitation facilities to citizens, CEO Gujranwala Waste Management Company (GWMC) and MD Suthra Punjab Agency, Abdul Razzaq Dogar, paid a detailed visit to various areas, streets, neighborhoods, markets, and main roads of the city early in the morning. During the visit, attendance of sanitation staff, their presence in designated areas according to the beat plan, high quality of sanitation, timely collection of garbage from homes, cleaning of drains (desilting), and the condition of main highways including link roads were meticulously reviewed. On this occasion, while inspecting different stages of the sanitation operation, a detailed briefing was also taken from relevant field officers regarding performance. CEO GWMC Abdul Razzaq Dogar, issuing strict instructions to contractors, zonal officers, supervisory, and monitoring staff, said that they must ensure their presence in the field at all costs and no compromise should be made on the set standard of sanitation. Reaffirming the commitment that providing a clean, healthy, and pleasant environment to citizens is the institution’s top priority, he stated that the process of waste collection from homes, regular desilting of drains, and continuous cleaning of public spaces must proceed without interruption. Abdul Razzaq Dogar made it clear that negligence, carelessness, or shortcomings in implementing the beat plan regarding sanitation affairs will not be tolerated in any case. He mentioned that the process of field monitoring has been made more effective and the sanitation operation is being strictly supervised on a daily basis so that sustainable and quality sanitation facilities can be available to the citizens of Gujranwala.
