Under the Punjab Chief Minister’s Health Reforms Program, Deputy Commissioner Gujranwala Naveed Ahmed paid a surprise visit to the Children’s Hospital, where he meticulously reviewed the medical and administrative arrangements. During the visit, the DC inspected the Emergency, OPD, and various wards, while also checking the attendance of doctors and paramedical staff. Assessing the overall cleanliness situation and the availability of medicines in the hospital, he met with the parents of children under treatment and inquired about the issues they were facing. The Deputy Commissioner strictly directed the hospital management to ensure the provision of top-quality medical facilities and high standards of cleanliness to patients, emphasizing that children’s health is the top priority of the district administration. On the same day, in line with the vision and directives of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Deputy Commissioner Gujranwala Naveed Ahmed heard public grievances on a daily basis under the “Open Door Policy” at his office. During the fixed public dealing hours in government offices (10:00 AM to 12:30 PM), he listened to the issues of visitors coming from far-off areas and issued instructions on the spot to the officers of relevant departments present for their immediate resolution. The Deputy Commissioner made it clear to all Assistant Commissioners and department heads that citizens should not be made to make repeated visits to offices, and public complaints must be resolved on a priority basis to provide relief to the public.
