Islamabad : while chairing 39th meeting of Standing Committee on Rules of Procedure and privileges’ held on 3rd october 2022 at Parliament House Islamabad, Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon Chairman of the Standing Committee directed to write a letter to all of the Government institutions in Pakistan that they are bound to obey the Public Accounts Committee. The committee is responsible for ensuring that public funds are spent wisely and efficiently.
Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon , said that all government departments and agencies must appear before the committee when summoned and answer questions about their finances. He added that the committee has the power to summon any government official, including the prime minister, for testimony.
The Public Accounts Committee is an important check on government spending in Pakistan. Its members are elected by the National Assembly and must be confirmed by the Senate.This is what he said when chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee Mr. Noor Alam Khan, MNA / Chairman, Public Accounts Committee (PAC) raised a privilege motion.
Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon is a politically well-educated politician. He was elected to the National Assembly from the constituency NA-159 by receiving 102606 votes he has no rival in social welfare services in his constituency.
