Chief Commissioner and Senior Special Magistrate Lead Bold Initiative to Tackle Environmental Pollution in Islamabad

Islamabad’s Chief Commissioner, Captain (Retired) Anwar-ul-Haq, and Senior Special Magistrate Sardar Muhammad Asif have jointly spearheaded a decisive campaign to combat environmental pollution and smog-related challenges within the city. Their unwavering commitment to preserving Islamabad’s natural beauty and environmental quality has culminated in a noteworthy operation targeting wooden factories in Sector H-13, Shams Colony.

The concerted efforts of Chief Commissioner Captain Anwar-ul-Haq and Senior Special Magistrate Sardar Muhammad Asif were instrumental in swiftly addressing environmental concerns. Their proactive stance resulted in the legal action taken against the proprietors of wooden factories, Chaudhry Rahman Javaid and Imran Shahzad, who were identified as the primary sources of environmental pollution due to their factories’ smoke emissions.

Senior Special Magistrate Asif, renowned for his dedication to maintaining a clean and pollution-free environment, ensured expeditious legal proceedings. In this context, he promptly ordered the immediate apprehension of Rahman Javaid and Imran Shahzad. Subsequently, the accused individuals were placed in police custody, awaiting further legal proceedings.

Chief Commissioner Captain Anwar-ul-Haq and Chairman CDA issued clear directives to the Environmental Protection Agency and relevant authorities, emphasizing the need for a comprehensive operation to tackle environmental pollution in Islamabad. This operation targeted wooden factories, recognizing their significant role in contributing to environmental degradation.

During the court proceedings, Senior Special Magistrate Asif delivered sentences that underscored the paramount importance of preserving Islamabad’s natural beauty and safeguarding the well-being of its residents. He emphasized that individuals involved in activities leading to environmental pollution would face severe legal consequences, regardless of their social standing or influence.

Senior Special Magistrate Sardar Muhammad Asif has previously garnered attention for imposing a substantial fine of 2.5 billion rupees and a three-year jail sentence on a G-7 landlord for failing to maintain proper sanitation and hygiene. His unwavering commitment to environmental cleanliness remains well-documented.

These actions epitomize the unwavering dedication of Chief Commissioner Captain Anwar-ul-Haq, Chairman CDA, and Senior Special Magistrate Sardar Muhammad Asif to upholding environmental standards and protecting the quality of life and health of Islamabad’s residents. Those found guilty of compromising the city’s natural surroundings and negatively impacting its residents will face the full extent of the law.
