Murree : December 6, 2023 – Chief Commissioner Rawalpindi Liaquat Ali Chatha’s recent visit to Murree ahead of the winter snowfall season has garnered immense support and admiration from local authorities and residents alike. During his visit, Chief Commissioner Chatha presided over a crucial meeting concerning the implementation of the Murree emergency plan. District Commissioner (DC) Murree Syed Zaheer Sherazi, in a statement to Daily Information Times, lauded the wisdom of Chief Commissioner Chatha, highlighting his exemplary leadership qualities. DC Murree expressed full readiness to adhere to Chief Commissioner Chatha’s directives, recognizing the need for a leader of his caliber to address the region’s impending challenges.

 

To address the potential issues arising with the onset of the winter season, Chief Commissioner Rawalpindi Liaqat Ali Chatha outlined a comprehensive plan aimed at enhancing preparedness and safety in Murree:

  1. Finalization of Arrangements: Chief Commissioner Chatha emphasized the need for all arrangements to be completed before the rainy season begins, ensuring the timely readiness of essential services.
  2. Digital Vehicle Counting: During the monsoon season, vehicles entering Murree will be digitally counted to manage traffic efficiently. Overloaded vehicles will not be permitted to enter the town, promoting road safety.
  3. Shuttle Services: Similar to last year, shuttle services will be organized during the monsoon season, providing convenient transportation options for residents and tourists.
  4. Ban on Motorcycle Entry: From December 15 to February 15, there will be a complete ban on the entry of motorcycles on the expressway, enhancing safety measures during the winter season.
