Gujranwala (July 17, 2026): Regional Police Officer (RPO) Khurram Shahzad Haider Waraich conducted an emergency and detailed visit to the Gujranwala district to rigorously oversee the administrative, investigative, and operational affairs of the police force. The primary objective of the visit was to ensure departmental discipline, enhance the quality of service delivery, promote transparency in records, and accelerate the accountability process.
During the visit, the RPO conducted formal inspections of the CPO Office, the offices of the SSP Operations and Investigation, and the office of the SP Sadar Division. On this occasion, he thoroughly reviewed official records, the redressal of public complaints, pending cases, and the overall performance, including staff attendance. Relevant officials were strictly instructed that negligence in public service would not be tolerated and that all official matters must be rendered transparent.
The RPO also visited the Sadar Gujranwala Maalkhana (Evidence Room), where he checked the records of weapons, case property, and confiscated items. Later, he received briefings at the offices of the SDPO Peoples Colony and Khiali regarding crime monitoring and the apprehension of proclaimed offenders.
During visits to Police Station Sadar and Police Station Sabzi Mandi, the RPO inspected the front desk operating under the ‘SIPS’ system, the lockups, and the security arrangements. Speaking on the occasion, RPO Khurram Shahzad Haider Waraich stated, “Providing timely, dignified, and impartial police service to every citizen is our top priority.” He further added that there would be no compromise on professional policing, transparency, and the rule of law. He clarified that this series of inspections will continue regularly to improve police performance.
