GUJRANWALA: Commissioner Gujranwala Division, Mohammad Ali, has stated that making Gujranwala clean, green, beautiful, and equipped with modern civic amenities under Chief Minister Punjab Maryum Nawaz Sharif’s “Sohna Punjab” (Beautiful Punjab) vision is among the top priorities of the government. To enhance the city’s aesthetic appeal, implement eco-friendly measures, and provide a healthy environment to the citizens, beautification projects are being executed at a rapid pace.
He expressed these views while addressing a high-level review meeting held in connection with the “Beautification of Gujranwala” initiative. During the meeting, Director General Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Shahid Abbas Jotah gave a detailed briefing on ongoing and proposed development projects, restoration of green belts, reviving the beauty of parks, large-scale tree plantation drives, horticulture, renovation of intersections, and landscaping across the city.
Directives for Green and Eco-Friendly Infrastructure
Commissioner Mohammad Ali directed the authorities to work under a comprehensive strategy to beautify all major highways, entry and exit points, intersections, and public parks of the city.
He emphasized that:
Extensive tree plantation drives should be initiated.
Seasonal and colorful flowers must be cultivated on green belts.
Modern landscaping techniques should be used alongside an exemplary sanitation system to ensure Gujranwala emerges as a model, green, and eco-friendly city.
Emphasis on Quality, Transparency, and Coordination
He made it clear that high standards of quality, transparency, and strict adherence to deadlines must be maintained in all development projects.
The Commissioner issued strict instructions to the concerned departments to enhance mutual coordination and closely monitor the beautification projects so that a clean, beautiful, and pleasant environment can be guaranteed for the citizens. The meeting also featured detailed discussions on the overall beautification of the city, upgrading public facilities, and future green initiatives.
