Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association (PPDA) Punjab Expresses Serious Concerns Over New Petroleum Policies and Gross Margins
During a press conference, the officials of the Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association (PPDA) Punjab expressed serious concerns regarding potential new policies for petroleum products and the issue of gross margins. Association President Mehr Muhammad Ashraf, General Secretary Mian Tahir Yasin, and other officials demanded that the government maintain petroleum product rates for at least 15 days, as it has become impossible to conduct business due to weekly price fluctuations.
The officials stated that the gross margin for petrol pump owners should be fixed at 8% to prevent losses caused by price volatility. They warned that determining prices on a daily or weekly basis risks creating a petroleum crisis. The association has appealed to the Prime Minister, the Minister of Petroleum, and the Chairman of OGRA to take dealers and oil companies into confidence when formulating new policies; otherwise, operating petrol pumps will become even more difficult.
