Roti and Naan Prices Fixed in Gujranwala: Strict Action Against Violations

Acting on the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Naveed Ahmed, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Headquarters) Shabir Hussain Butt chaired a meeting with Price Control Magistrates and the Nanbai Association. During the meeting, it was made clear that the sale of naan and roti at the rates fixed by the Government of Punjab must be ensured at all costs.

The ADC (Headquarters) directed that it is mandatory for roti to weigh 100 grams (priced at 14 rupees) and for naan to weigh 120 grams. He warned that strict legal action will be taken against those found reducing the weight or overcharging, and that any tandoors found in violation will be sealed immediately.

It was emphasized during the meeting that all tandoor and hotel owners must display the government-issued rate lists in prominent locations. The Nanbai Association has assured full implementation of the government-mandated rates.

The district administration has appealed to citizens to immediately report any instances of overcharging by calling the toll-free number 0800-02345 or the District Control Room at 055-9200070.
