Gujranwala Police, in a series of operations, have killed a notorious, record-holding robber and arrested a drug peddler in an injured condition.
In an incident occurring within the jurisdiction of Qila Didar Singh Police Station, a robber who opened fire at a police checkpoint was killed by the retaliatory fire of his own accomplices. The deceased robber was identified as Waqar, who was wanted in dozens of cases involving robbery, street crime, and theft in Gujranwala, Lahore, Faisalabad, and Chiniot. Police have recovered a snatched motorcycle, mobile phones, and illegal weapons from the suspect, while a search for his accomplices who managed to escape is ongoing.
In a separate operation, the Baghbanpura Police arrested a record-holding drug peddler, Muhammad Ali. The suspect was injured while attempting to flee a police checkpoint, and 520 grams of hashish along with a motorcycle were recovered from his possession.
CPO Dr. Sardar Ghias Gul Khan has taken notice of both incidents and requested reports from the respective Divisional SPs. The CPO stated that the eradication of criminal elements and drug dealers is essential for the formation of a peaceful and safe society. Under the supervision of the SDPO of Qila Didar Singh, special teams are conducting search operations and have set up blockades across the city to apprehend the fleeing suspects.
