Gujranwala (July 16, 2026): Former PML-N MPA Pir Ghulam Fareed, MNA Shazia Fareed, and PP-65 candidate Pir Amir Fareed have stated that the recent statement by Maulana Fazlur Rehman is highly inappropriate and has hurt the sentiments of the entire nation, adding that he should immediately apologize to the nation for his remarks.
In a joint statement, they further emphasized that the martyrs of the Pakistan Army are the pride of the nation. The sacrifices of the officers and soldiers who offered their lives for the defense of the motherland are unforgettable, and the entire nation views them with the utmost respect and honor. The leaders stressed that the brave sons of the Pakistan Army have played an eternal role in safeguarding the country’s borders and its people during every hour of trial.
They stated that it is thanks to the sacrifices of the martyrs that Pakistan’s defense is strong today, and the nation takes pride in its protectors. The PML-N leaders clarified that Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s statement has wounded the sentiments of the families of the martyrs. During the conversation, they remarked that Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir, along with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, is working tirelessly to lead the country out of the current crises and pave the way for national development, and the determination of the current leadership is a harbinger of a bright future for Pakistan.
