Gujranwala (July 17, 2026): In line with the vision of “Suthra Punjab” (Clean Punjab) and “Sohna Punjab” (Beautiful Punjab) set by Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Deputy Commissioner Gujranwala Naveed Ahmed conducted an early morning surprise visit to various areas of the city. The purpose of this visit was to directly oversee waste management, model markets, price control, the anti-encroachment drive, and the progress of ongoing development projects.
The Deputy Commissioner conducted a detailed inspection of the cleaning operation from Shamsi Chowk to the QDPS Railway Crossing. He strictly directed the authorities to ensure the timely removal of garbage from roads, green belts, and surrounding areas. Emphasizing that no negligence in cleaning standards would be tolerated, he also ordered the immediate replacement of dilapidated waste bins.
During his visit to Ayesha Bibi Park and the Haidari Underpass, the Deputy Commissioner instructed PHA authorities to carry out the renovation of parks, grass cutting, and plant maintenance on a daily basis. In Mohalla Mujahid Pura, he checked the availability of essential commodities at government-notified prices and ordered the Pera Force to take indiscriminate action against encroachments.
During his visit to Allah Bakhsh Colony, Mehar Barkat Wala Galla, and Link Kashmir Road, he supervised the de-silting of sewerage lines and the door-to-door waste collection process. Finally, Deputy Commissioner Naveed Ahmed reviewed the construction work at the Satellite Town Model Market. He directed the relevant officers to complete the projects on time so that citizens could be provided with a clean, organized, and convenient environment.v
