Gujranwala (July 30, 2026): In light of the special instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Deputy Commissioner Gujranwala Naveed Ahmed paid a surprise early morning visit to various areas of the city following yesterday’s rain. The purpose of this visit was to closely inspect rainwater drainage, cleanliness, and deep cleaning operations.
The Deputy Commissioner inspected several key locations, including Shamsi Chowk Underpass, Pondanwala Chowk, Sheranwala Bagh, Pasrur Road, Sheikhupura Road, Bank Wala Galla, Makkah Road, and Chanda Qila Chowk. Following the complete drainage of water at the Shamsi Chowk Underpass, he issued orders to restore traffic. He directed the WASA and Suthra Punjab teams to ensure complete water drainage from low-lying areas and lime sprinkling after deep cleaning to provide a healthy environment for citizens.
