ATC grants Imran pre-arrest bail in three cases related to May 9 violence

LAHORE, May 19 : An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore granted Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan pre-arrest bail in three cases registered against him on Friday.

Imran was booked under the charges of ransacking, setting fire to Jinnah House and law and order disruption following his arrest on May 9.

Meanwhile, the ATC judge reserved his decision on the former premier’s bail pleas in FIRs registered against him for the murder of Zile Shah, and creating a law-and-order situation at his residence in Zaman Park. The decision is likely to be announced on June 2.

The PTI chief appeared in court today after receiving permission for his vehicle to enter the ATC premises.

Earlier, the ATC in Lahore extended the pre-arrest bails of PTI leaders, including chairman Imran Khan and senior leader Fawad Chaudhry, until May 16.

The bails were granted in connection with different FIRs registered against them for allegedly attacking police officials, creating law-and-order panic, setting ablaze state properties at Zaman Park, and Imran Khan’s alleged involvement in the Zille Shah murder case.
