Gujranwala (Divisional Bureau Report): Commissioner Gujranwala Division, Muhammad Ali, conducted a detailed visit to the Social Security Hospital Model Town to inspect various wards, available medical facilities, cleanliness arrangements, availability of medicines, and ongoing development work. On this occasion, the Medical Superintendent (MS) and the hospital administration briefed him on patient care and administrative matters. During the visit, Commissioner Muhammad Ali inspected various wards and interacted directly with admitted patients and their attendants to inquire about the standard of treatment and provision of medicines. Taking immediate notice of a complaint by a patient regarding purchasing medicines from outside, the Commissioner strictly directed the concerned authorities to ensure that all deserving patients receive free and quality medicines from within the hospital, in line with Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision. The Commissioner emphasized that caring for every patient visiting government hospitals is a priority for the government, and any negligence regarding treatment or non-availability of medicines will not be tolerated under any circumstances. He directed that the stock of medicines and cleanliness standards be monitored on a daily basis. Later, the Commissioner reviewed the ongoing construction projects at the hospital and expressed severe dissatisfaction over the slow pace of work. He issued strict instructions to the concerned officials and contractors to immediately accelerate the pace of work, ensure the use of quality materials, and complete all projects within the stipulated timeframe for handover to the hospital administration. Commissioner Muhammad Ali stated that the primary objective of the provincial government is to provide quality, dignified, and timely healthcare facilities to citizens at their doorstep. He reiterated that continuous monitoring of hospital performance and development works will remain ongoing.
