Detailed Visit of Deputy Commissioner Gujranwala to Tehsil Nowshera Virkan; Review of Facilities at Hospital and School

Gujranwala (Handout – July 14, 2026): In light of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s “Health Reforms Program” and educational vision, Deputy Commissioner Gujranwala, Naveed Ahmed, conducted a comprehensive visit to Tehsil Nowshera Virkan. On this occasion, Assistant Commissioner Nowshera Virkan Sadia Jamal, the Medical Superintendent (MS), and other relevant officers accompanied him.

In the first phase of his visit, the Deputy Commissioner conducted a detailed inspection of the Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital, Nowshera Virkan. He reviewed the medical facilities provided in various departments including the OPD, Emergency, Laboratory, Pharmacy, Gynae Ward, and Operation Theatre, as well as administrative affairs and the healthcare services available to patients. He meticulously checked cleanliness, the availability of medicines, and the functionality of medical equipment.

The Deputy Commissioner inquired after the patients under treatment, asked about their well-being, and obtained direct feedback regarding the quality of treatment, the supply of medicines, and the facilities available at the hospital. Issuing strict instructions to the relevant officers, he stated that the provision of excellent medical facilities to patients must be ensured at all costs, and no negligence or deficiency in the treatment process will be tolerated. He also checked the staff attendance according to the duty roster.

In the second phase of the visit, Deputy Commissioner Naveed Ahmed visited Government High School No. 1, Nowshera Virkan. Despite the summer vacations, he inspected the staff attendance, cleanliness, the overall condition of the building, and the availability of basic amenities including clean drinking water, electricity, and washrooms. He directed the relevant education officers to ensure that all basic facilities remain fully functional in schools even during the holidays. He emphasized that all necessary arrangements should be completed on time before the reopening of schools so that students can be provided with a safe, clean, and excellent educational environment from the very first day.
