LAHORE, April 26 : The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Lahore Zone has conducted a successful operation against visa fraud and apprehended a suspect involved in defrauding citizens in the name of visas.
The suspect deceived the public by offering fake job opportunities abroad and swindled millions of rupees from them. The culprit, under the guise of employment in Canada, was collecting 25 to 30 lakh rupees from citizens. The suspect, Muhammad Ashraf, was arrested in Lahore.
He was arrested and the investigation was initiated. According to FIA officials, the culprit Muhammad Ashraf was arrested on the basis of information provided by a previously arrested suspect.
The FIA officials recovered multiple passports, fake Canada visa stickers, identity cards, and educational documents from his possession.
The FIA Lahore Zone Director, Sarfraz Khan, lauded the efforts of the team and promised that the agency would use all resources to bring visa fraudsters to justice. He warned that strict action would be taken against those involved in visa fraud and urged the public to be cautious and report any suspicious activity.
Fake travel document agents will also be pursued and penalized, according to an FIA spokesperson. The FIA continues to crack down on visa fraud and related activities across the country.
