Sharif’s Vision, Free ‘Deceased Care Service’ (Ambulance Service) Launched in Gujranwala GUJRANWALA: In line with the public-friendly vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and her commitment to providing dignified transport facilities to citizens, the free Deceased Care Service (مفت میت منتقلی سروس) has been formally launched in Gujranwala. Following the special directives of Secretary Emergency Services Department Dr. Rizwan Naseer, the Punjab Emergency Service Rescue 1122 Gujranwala has initiated this service to transport deceased bodies from government hospitals completely free of charge, ensuring dignity and professionalism to support grieving families during their time of sorrow. The Launch Ceremony A dignified launching ceremony was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Gujranwala. The event was attended by: Deputy Commissioner Gujranwala, Naveed Ahmad Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), Zeeshan Nadeem District Emergency Officer, Mian Rifat Zia Chief Executive Officer (Health), Dr. Umar Sharif Rathore Medical Superintendents, district administration officers, and representatives from the Health Department and Rescue 1122. Key Highlights & Service Briefing During the ceremony, District Emergency Officer Mian Rifat Zia gave a detailed briefing on the objectives of the service: Dignified Protocol: Highly trained Rescue 1122 staff will ensure the transportation of the deceased to their destination with utmost respect, honor, and in accordance with Islamic values. Zero Cost: The service is 100% free of charge for all citizens. Financial Relief: The primary goal of this program is to ease the emotional and financial burden on bereaved families, reflecting the Punjab Government’s mission of public service. Administration’s Commitment Speaking at the event, Deputy Commissioner Gujranwala Naveed Ahmad remarked: “Under the leadership of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the provincial government is taking effective and sustainable steps for public welfare. The launch of the Deceased Care Service is a testament to this vision, providing immediate and free relief to citizens during the most painful moments of their lives.” He highly appreciated the professionalism of Rescue 1122 and assured that the district administration would extend full cooperation to ensure the successful implementation of this welfare program. At the end of the ceremony, DC Naveed Ahmad and other officials inspected the specialized ambulances dedicated to the Deceased Care Service and reviewed the overall arrangements.
