Peshawar’s PPPP Leader Nighar Orakzai, a Steadfast Advocate for Women’s Rights in KPK

PESHAWAR: Nighar Orakzai, a luminary of Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) in Peshawar, continues to be an empowering figure and an earnest advocate for women’s rights in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province. Despite the inherent challenges associated with working in the region, Orakzai remains undeterred, primarily concerned with improving the living conditions and future prospects for KPK’s women.

In a recent interview with the Information Times, she spoke passionately about her vision for the province. “I aspire for my province to develop like other cities, where women are given equal opportunities in all spheres of life, especially in education,” Orakzai expressed.

She firmly believes in the importance of the Women’s Endowment, which seeks to provide fundamental amenities like clean drinking water and health facilities, particularly in the merged districts of KPK. According to Orakzai, the endowment plays a crucial role in offering women opportunities on par with the rest of the country, helping them step out of the shadows and be active contributors to society.

Orakzai is also recognized for her strong stance against the dowry tradition, which she considers a significant hurdle in the progress of women. She sees this tradition as an undue burden and advocates its abolition, arguing that it perpetuates socioeconomic inequality and stands against the empowerment of women.

Nighar Orakzai’s relentless dedication and persistent advocacy underscore her commitment to improving the state of women in KPK. Her contributions serve as an exemplar, demonstrating that progress is possible even amidst adversity. She continues to work tirelessly to transform her vision for the women of KPK into a reality, ushering in a new era of empowerment and progress.
