PS Koral arrested 52 accused; recovered valuables worth Rs 17.1 millions under the leadership of SHO Shafqat Faiz


ISLAMABAD, April 12: Koral police teams of Islamabad Capital Police arrested 52 accused including two murderers involved in a series of criminal activities during the last month, a Police Public Relations Officer said.

He said that the Koral police station teams also recovered looted items worth Rs 17.1 millions including vehicles, motorbikes, mobile phones, cash and valuables from their possession.

According to the details, following the special directions of Inspector General of Police Islamabad Dr Akbar Nasir Khan, special tasks were assigned to all zonal DPOs and Police teams to arrest those involved in heinous crime and recover the looted items.

Following these directions, the Koral police teams under the supervision of SHO Koral Shafqat Faiz conducted a massive crackdown against the criminal elements and succeeded in apprehending 52 criminals and 06 absconders during the last month. Police teams also recovered vehicles, motorbikes, mobile phones, laptops, gold ornaments, cash and valuables worth Rs 17.1 millions from their possession and handed over 08 motorcycles, 03 mobile phones, Rs 2.56 million cash, gold ornaments worth Rs 2.27 million to their real owners.

Likewise, the Koral police team arrested two gangsters a short span of time that shot dead two persons during a robbery from a government flour distribution vehicle near Khanna Bridge on March 18. The accused confessed their involvement in numerous robbery and dacoity activities in the jurisdiction of Koral, Sihala, Shahzad Ton, Khanna, Shalimar and Golra police stations, while further investigation is underway.

Similarly, 13 accused involved in dozens of robberies were arrested and sent to jail who were involved in robbing people on shops and roads at gunpoint. Police also arrested three accused of a gang involved in motorcycle theft and recovered 08 motorcycles from their possession. Koral police also arrested the accused involved in a dacoity with lever brothers vehicle and recovered looted cash worth 0.49 million and handed over it to its owner.

Moreover, police teams also arrested two accused of a wanted gang involved in a case of domestic robbery with attempt to murder and recovered Rs 01 million from his possession. The accused was also wanted in numerous cases to Rawalpindi police and Islamabad police. While 08 accused involved in possessing illegal weapons and drug peddling were arrested and 05 pistols, 2535 grams hashish and 20 liters liquor recovered from their possession. Police teams also arrested 16 accused of 06 gangs and 06 proclaimed offenders involved in heinous crimes and other criminal activities.

Koral police also recovered 10 women, men and children in missing and kidnapping cases during the same period and were safely reunited with their heirs. The Koral police submitted the challans of 220 cases to the relevant courts after completing their challans. For this excellent performance, SHO Koral and teams were also awarded with cash prizes and commendation certificates by the senior officers and the performance of Koral Police was highly appreciated by the general public as well.

CPO/ DIG Operations Islamabad Syed Shehzad Nadeem Bukhari also appreciated this overall performance adding that it is the prime responsibility of police to provide relief to the citizens and every possible effort would be made to ensure it.
