DC Naved Ahmed’s Surprise Visit to Gondlanwala Hospital, Expresses Satisfaction with Arrangements and Issues Improvement Directives

Gujranwala (July 31, 2026): Under Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s Health Reforms Program, Deputy Commissioner Gujranwala, Naveed Ahmad, paid a surprise visit to the Gujranwala Medical College Teaching Hospital (Gondlanwala). On this occasion, he conducted a detailed review of the medical facilities provided to patients, cleanliness, staff attendance, and the availability of medicines.

A notable improvement in the medical and administrative standards was observed during the hospital visit. Two long-out-of-order lifts were made fully operational, while washrooms were found clean and water dispensers installed. The Deputy Commissioner appreciated the implementation of the “one patient, one attendant” policy, stating that it has reduced unnecessary crowding in the hospital.

Doctors and staff were present according to the duty roster, and no complaints regarding medical treatment were received from patients. However, the Deputy Commissioner expressed strong displeasure over a few doctors in the OPD not wearing their dress code (white coats) and instructed the MS to ensure immediate compliance. In addition, orders were issued to immediately increase the number of wheelchairs at the help desk for the convenience of patients and senior citizens.

Deputy Commissioner Naveed Ahmad resolved that, in accordance with the vision of the Chief Minister of Punjab, the provision of quality medical facilities to citizens will continue without interruption.
