Gujranwala District Administration Takes Action to Ensure Relief; Price Control Committee Revises Rates for Essential Commodities Gujranwala: In accordance with the vision of Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif to ensure relief for the public, the Gujranwala district administration is actively working. Under the special directives of Deputy Commissioner Gujranwala/Wazirabad, Naveed Ahmed, Additional Deputy Commissioner (HQ) Shabbir Hussain Butt presided over a meeting of the Price Re-fixation Committee to review the prices of essential food items. Details of the New Price List: During the meeting, it was decided that Basmati Super rice will be sold at Rs. 300, Gram Pulse (thick) at Rs. 210, Masoor Pulse (Crimson) at Rs. 210, Mash Pulse (washed) at Rs. 405, Moong Pulse at Rs. 300, and White Chickpeas at Rs. 210 per kg. Similarly, the price of Roti (100 grams) has been set at Rs. 14, Mutton at Rs. 1800, Beef at Rs. 900, Milk at Rs. 170 per liter, and Yogurt at Rs. 180 per kg. The rates for sugar, flour, and ghee will remain in accordance with government policy, while prices for vegetables and fruits will be issued by the Market Committee on a daily basis. Additional Deputy Commissioner Shabbir Hussain Butt emphasized that the business community must ensure compliance with government rates at all costs. He directed the Assistant Commissioners and Price Control Magistrates to conduct regular market visits and take immediate, strict legal action against those involved in profiteering or hoarding. The meeting was attended by EADA Market Committee Imran Ali, trader representatives Sheikh Babar and Fazal-ur-Rehman, along with representatives from civil society and officers from relevant departments. The district administration has also appealed to citizens to immediately report any instances of overcharging to the administration.
