Gujranwala: 2 Notorious Inter-District Robbers Killed, 4 Arrested in Police Encounters Gujranwala (Correspondent): On the instructions of CPO Dr. Sardar Ghias Gul Khan, Gujranwala Police has intensified its crackdown against criminal elements. During 6 police encounters in various areas of the city, 2 record-holding inter-district robbers—wanted in over 30 cases—were killed by the fire of their own accomplices, while 4 other suspects were arrested in an injured condition. According to a police spokesperson, the deceased suspects have been identified as Salamat and Maqsood, who were involved in encounters within the jurisdictions of Ladhewala Waraich and Cantt police stations. The suspects were wanted by police in Gujranwala, Sialkot, Sheikhupura, and Lahore for dozens of serious crimes, including robbery, mugging, and murder. The police have recovered illegal weapons and cash from the suspects and are actively pursuing their accomplices who managed to escape. Additionally, in various other operations, police arrested 4 suspects in injured condition who were involved in extortion, drug peddling, and harassing young girls. CPO Dr. Sardar Ghias Gul Khan stated that the eradication of criminal elements is essential for building a peaceful society, and special teams have been formed to ensure the arrest of the absconding suspects.
