IHC CJ Summons Islamabad IG, Interior Secretary Over Imran Khan’s Arrest


ISLAMABAD, May 09 : Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Aamer Farooq has summoned the Islamabad inspector general and interior ministry secretary in 15 minutes.

Chief Justice Aamer Farooq observed, “Whoever has done this is wrong. I will also take action against the prime minister and ministers if needed.”

The chief justice directed the additional attorney general as well to appear in 15 minutes. The advocate general Islamabad requested to increase the time of 15 minutes to half an hour. The court rejected the plea and ordered to appear in 15 minutes.

“After taking instructions, let’s know who did this,” he asked.

Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah on Tuesday said Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan was arrested after showing him the arrest warrant.

Rana Sanaullah said inquiries were ongoing against Imran Khan in the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). He said Imran Khan should have appeared in the cases. He also said that Section 144 was imposed in Islamabad.

Khan was arrested by Rangers personnel from the Islamabad High Court (IHC) premises. The arrest was confirmed by Khan’s lawyer.

The sources reported that Imran Khan has been taken to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) office in Rawalpindi.

Imran Khan was arrested in Qadir trust case. NAB chairman issued the arrest warrants for Imran Khan.

Imran Khan was set to appear before the Islamabad High Court (IHC) to seek bail in two cases.
