Islamabad Police Department’s Anti-Corruption Measures: DIG Bukhari’s Zero-Tolerance Policy

ISLAMABAD – March 6, 2023 – The Islamabad Police Department is pleased to announce the appointment of Syed Shehzad Nadeem Bukhari as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations. DIG Bukhari joined the Islamabad Police Department in February 2023 and brings with him a wealth of experience in fighting corruption and improving police-community relations.

 

Prior to his appointment as DIG Operations in Islamabad, DIG Bukhari served as the (CPO) of Rawalpindi Police. During his tenure from June 2022 to January 2023, he demonstrated a strong commitment to eliminating corruption and negligence in the police force. He issued 78 major punishments and 447 minor punishments to officers found guilty of corruption and negligence, while also rewarding 1010 officers for good work.

 

DIG Bukhari has also implemented numerous initiatives to improve the working conditions and morale of police officers in Rawalpindi. He provided better training opportunities, improved the living conditions in police barracks, and introduced a system to provide financial assistance to officers in times of need. Additionally, he worked to build trust and communication between police officers and the community, resulting in a more effective and efficient response to crime and better overall safety in the city.

 

With his track record of fighting corruption and improving police-community relations, DIG Bukhari’s appointment has caused concern among some corrupt officers in Islamabad. He has been quoted as saying, “Only excellent can survive in my team,” indicating his zero-tolerance policy for corruption and negligence.

 

The Islamabad Police Department is confident that DIG Bukhari’s appointment will lead to improved operations and a more effective response to crime in the city. His commitment to transparency, accountability, and excellence will help to build a stronger and safer community in Islamabad.
